Culture Evening – Media Team Report

Category: Diversity, Media Team, News, Students write

On Wednesday 6th of April, Culture evening took place from 6-8pm. There were many different things you could do, from stalls selling various food items from different countries and cultures, to stalls which had activities such as Chinese calligraphy and face painting. Some of the main stalls were selling Indian, African, Chinese and Pakistani foods. The Dining room was decorated with many flags from different countries such as Brazil, Germany, America, Sudan, Vietnam, India and more.

As well as that, there was also a talent show in the main hall where we had people showcasing dances, poetry and more from their cultures. The audience could see many different things such as Irish dancing, a Bulgarian song, a Yoruba poem, a Bengali poem, Bharatnatyam, Bollywood dancing, Afro-Fusion dancing and many, many more.

There was also an AGGS cultural fashion show, where we had people from all around the world in our school community walk in traditional clothes. We had lots of people from Syria, India, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Libya, Sierra Leone and more, as well as a very supportive audience who were cheering the whole way through! Overall, it was a very fun event enjoyed by everyone who was present.
