CyberFirst – Media Team report

Category: Computing, Media Team, News, Students write

In mid-November, the computing department got involved in a competition across the UK, called CyberFirst, hosted by the NCSC. Many students from Year 8 (and different years) participated. The competition is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to team up with up to 3 other people and compete with other teams to solve challenges from various difficulty levels on categories like Logic and Coding, Cryptography, Cyber Security, Networking and Speciality. This is a great competition for anyone who may be interested in a career in Cyber Security, and for people who aren’t and just want to have fun!

Out of the 9 teams that entered, AGGSDinoCompany (Chloe A from 8-5, Georgia W from 8-5, Ikshita S from 8-1 and Eva X from 8-1) made it to the finals and were competing against people from the Northwest on the 5th of February. Even though they didn’t win, they had lots of fun and would strongly recommend future students to try it out next year.
