Altrincham Grammar School for Girls is a selective Grammar School responsible for its own admissions. All ‘in-year’ admissions enquiries should be made to the Admissions Officer at admissions@aggs.bright-futures.co.uk.
Altrincham Grammar School for Girls is usually oversubscribed in terms of those wishing to join the school, and places available. We do operate a waiting list but places are only available to those candidates who have qualified through the AGGS assessment test. Should a place become available, the oversubscription criteria will be applied to those on the waiting list in order to allocate the place.
Candidates who have previously been unsuccessful in the School’s Entrance Examination cannot be reassessed until at least the summer term when they are in year 7. Reassessment of a candidate following an unsuccessful ‘in-year’ assessment test may only take place a minimum of 12 months after the original assessment.
Applicants applying to enter Years 7 to 11 will be assessed for their suitability for a grammar school place using selection tests which are as follows:
Assessments will be held each term. Parents will be notified in writing of their child’s results and whether their child will be added to the waiting list. Please read the Admissions Policy on the link below, in particular point 2 ‘Admissions for pupils applying to enter years 7 to 11’.
Should you wish to register your child for the next assessment test, please complete the registration form below. Copies of this and the Admission Policy may be obtained from the Admissions Officer on admissions@aggs.bright-futures.co.uk
