Reporting Absence and Requesting Leave of Absence

Reporting Absence (Unplanned)

Should you need to report your child’s absence due to illness or appointment, please use the ‘Report an Absence’ function on web-based version of the My Child at School (MCAS) , or alternatively use the absence phone lines:

Years 7-11: 0161 686 3011 and choose option 3. 

Years 12 & 13: 0161 686 3012 

Requesting Special Leave of Absence 

Should you need to request special leave of absence for your child during the school term due to exceptional circumstances or for any other reason than illness or medical/dental appointments, please only use the ‘Report an Absence’ function on the web-based version of the My Child at School (MCAS) app.

If you follow this link https://www.mychildatschool.com/MCAS/MCSParentLogin in your internet browser and log in as you would on the app, the reporting absence button will be accessible. 

You will receive a confirmation email when the report has been sent successfully and a notification via the MCAS inbox to confirm wither that the request has been approved or rejected with reasons.
