GCSE 2020

In what has been a difficult and turbulent year, students at AGGS once more excelled in their GCSE qualifications. Throughout the lockdown, our students continued to show resilience and strength, and it is wonderful to be able to celebrate with students and staff, an outstanding set of GCSE results.

42% of all grades awarded were at the highest, 9 grade and 89% of all results were graded at 7 or above. A phenomenal 122 students achieved grade 7 or above in all of their subjects and 16 students achieved grade 9 in all of their GCSE subjects.

We are delighted that the hard work of our students over the last five years has been rewarded by such fantastic GCSE results. These achievements also reflect the dedication of our teachers and the quality of the support provided by our staff. We are extremely proud of each and every one of our students and would like to congratulate them on their achievements.

Principal, Ms Gill, said: “Although some students may feel cheated of the opportunity to show what they were capable of in their GCSE exams, I want them to reflect that their hard work has been recognised, both by their teachers and by the government, in the awarding of centre assessed grades. In an extraordinary year, it is important for our students to know that they have done well and we are very proud of them.”
