Thank you from the Charity Committee

Category: Charity, News

On behalf of the Charity Committee, we would like to thank all parents and students for their continued generosity and support. Since the Covid outbreak, we have raised over £15,000 which has been donated to 13 various charities of the committee’s choosing. These donations have been immensely valuable in supporting these charities and their work. To put some of the donations in context, £1000 donation to the ‘Railway Children’ is able to fund a Community Mobiliser in India for five whole months – providing informal education in communities and working with schools to get children back into education, in order to help break the cycle of risk and poverty. £1000 was also donated to ‘Sight Savers’ which performs sight saving operations and treatments that cost about £30 per patient and is the difference between a person been visually disabled and been able to work and provide for their families and communities. The charity committee have also been extremely active in responding to the current refugee crisis in Ukraine and more locally within Manchester, organizing many successful bake sales, winter coat and toiletries collections. Next Year, we hope to expand our reach even further while strengthening our contributions to our local community.
