Chemistry Olympiad Success!

Category: Science

This year we had 20 enthusiastic Year 12 and 13 students taking part in the competition, which involved them completing a two-hour written exam paper. The questions posed often stimulate much debate, and enthusiasm for, chemistry – raising awareness of what the subject is all about. It provides a good opportunity to develop some of the skills required for study at university and beyond.

We are extremely pleased with the number of students participated and the results that they have achieved: 85% obtained an award; with 10 students a bronze certificate (Tara S, Rhianon M, Khushi S, Keshni G, Isabel M, Emaan A, Eimaan B, Dharini M, Catherine Y and Cara L) and 4 students achieving a silver (Sofia B, Sanya M, Nell W and Aahi S). Huge congratulations must go to Saloni M, Sohana M in Y13 and Xinyi L in Y12, who achieved a prestigious Gold Award, placing them in the top 9% of the ~12000 students who took part nationally. Well done to everyone who took part!
