Our Year 10 Language Ambassadors have been working hard this term and have successfully organised two competitions.
Year 8 pupils were invited to design and make a Christmas card inspired by a particular country or culture. The quality of the entries received was exceptional. Congratulations to the winners of this competition: Samhita K in 8-5, with a very intricate card celebrating German traditions and Gurkaran K in 8-3, with a beautiful card inspired by Japanese culture.
Year 7 pupils were invited to take part in our virtual Bake Off competition. Entrants were asked to design and bake a cake representing a country, culture or famous landmark of the world. Pupils were required to take photos of their bakes and submit these, along with detailed explanations of their methods and their design choices. We received a huge number of entries and the judging was very difficult. The bakes were extremely creative and celebrated a wide variety of cultures, from China to Egypt. We’ll have to take your word for it that the cakes tasted as good as they looked! Congratulations to winners Evelyn C in 7-7 and Sofia K in 7-3.
