CyberFirst Girls Competition

Category: News, Publicity

For the second year running since the CyberFirst Year 8 Girls competition introduced Semi-Finals, AGGS has secured a place to participate in the national competition run by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/cyberfirst/girls-competition

The team from 8-4; Helen H, Medha A, Preet G and, Becky C, made a huge amount of progress during the qualification round completing challenges covering Networking, Cyber Security, Cryptography and Logic, and Programming (most of these challenges to a level which wouldn’t normally be covered until A Level or later!). It’s an absolute testament to their hard work, determination, and teamwork that they have progressed to the next stage, narrowly gaining a lead in the last minutes over 5 other teams within AGGS (who also worked incredibly hard and should be proud of their achievements)

As a result of the involvement and enjoyment that everyone had, Mr Starnes will be continuing the Year 8 Cybersecurity Club (online) for anyone who wishes to take part in weekly challenges and practical skills after the February half term on Friday lunches!
