15 Y10 German students have been meeting on a Wednesday lunchtime to connect with our partner school in Stuttgart. Our German assistant, Philipp Schmidt, has established this link for us as part of the Cultural Exchange Ambassadors Programme with UK-German Connection. We are absolutely delighted to have found such a perfect partner school in The Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium.

We had our first live meeting online two weeks ago and met the German class and exchanged information in English and German about Stuttgart and Manchester and our schools. Now there is the Photo Challenge: we have selected 12 well-known places in Manchester and the German students have done the same for Stuttgart. We need to find places like the Cannstatter Volksfest or the Denkpartner here, and they need to find an equivalent for the Manchester Bee or Altrincham Market, for example. Challenge accepted!

Our final project is a calendar with local and traditional recipes: we anticipate some German cooking and baking over Easter! We are looking forward to our next online meeting next term and getting to know our partner school.
