Safiyah K in Year 12 travelled to Windsor Castle on Saturday 26th March to compete in the Historical Association’s Great Debate competition. It was a great day, filled with tiny regal sandwiches, cream teas and some fantastic presentations given by students from around the country!
Safiyah presented her well-reasoned argument on what has changed the most in her local area during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and was met with applause and praise. The winner of the competition was a competitor from Penzance who gave a great five minute summary of the second-home housing crisis in his local area – riveting!
Safiyah did a fantastic job representing AGGS in London and we are all extremely proud.
Well done Safiyah!
Safiyah’s speech and photos of the competition will be available soon on https://www.history.org.uk/
