On Monday, 11th July, Year 12 students kicked off the UCAS procedure with our annual Post 18 Day 2.
Mrs Bell-Walker started the ball rolling with an introduction to the day and the key factors to be noted. We were joined by the Universities of Manchester, Liverpool, Lancaster and Nottingham who hosted extremely informative Personal Statement sessions of the do’s, don’ts and how to format the most important part of their application. Students were really engaged, asking pertinent questions.
This was followed in the afternoon by students visiting teachers in subject departments sharing a wealth of knowledge in their area of specialism, including the type of career paths that can be taken in these fields and responding to any subject queries.
A successful day for what is just the beginning of the process for those wishing to go to University, applying for an apprenticeship, going straight into the workplace or taking a gap year.
