Welcome to Year 7 – Media Team Report

I am sure every student can remember their first day at AGGS. All the new faces… All the new buildings… All the endless rooms… The nerve-wracking moments when walking through those school gates…. Well, I managed to interview two Year 7’s about how school life is going for them so far:

So here’s my first Year 7…

Talia A, 7-3

  1. Do you feel safe at school?
    Yes, as I have many people to support me.
  2. Have you made any new friends?
    Yes, the school is a very welcoming place.
  3. Do you go to any clubs?
    Yes I go to ISOC (Islamic Society) and Netball.
  4. What do you think of your teachers?
    The teachers are super good at their job and supportive.
  5. Have you found your way around the school?
    Sort of, I am getting used to all the buildings.
  6. Who is your favourite teacher so far?
    I really like Mrs Clutton as she is really nice and I also like Dr Roberts as he gets everyone into a cheery mood.
  7. Do you visit the library?
    Yes, I go often.
  8. How is homework going?
    Homework is going great –I do them the nights they’re set.
  9. What are you looking forward to this year?
    I am really looking forward to the Glaramara residential!
  10. What is your favourite subject?
    I really like Food Tech as it is practical and I enjoy cooking with Mrs Clutton.

  1. Do you feel safe at school?
    Yes as I have people to follow and teachers to guide me if I get lost.
  2. Have you made any new friends?
    Yes, I have so many friends.
  3. Do you go to any clubs?
    Yes, I go to ISOC (Islamic Society).
  4. What do you think of your teachers?
    My teachers are really nice and kind.
  5. Have you found your way around the school?
    Yes, I have seen all the buildings and the amazing classrooms.
  6. Who is your favourite teacher so far?
    My favourite teacher is Mr Starnes as he likes ducks and he is really funny.
  7. Do you visit the library?
    I go sometimes.
  8. How is homework going?
    Homework is going well; I have started to get used to my homework timetable.
  9. What are you looking forward to this year?
    I am looking forward to making foods in Food Tech.
  10. What is your favourite subject?
    Computing as I like my teacher and I understand everything I learn really well.

I just wanted to say a huge, warm welcome to all the new Year 7s. We wish you luck in your school years ahead, and hopefully you all manage to get used to the school soon. And a huge thank you to Jud and Talia for their excellent answers!
