Last Monday, Atrisa H in Year 12 and Olachi O in Year 10 both competed in the Great Debate at the local heat in Bolton. The Great Debate is a national public-speaking competition run by the Historical Association. The 14 competitors at the heat had to present a 5-minute speech answering the question ‘Why does history matter to me?’
Atrisa and Chi spoke superbly and were both commended by audience members for being some of the best competitors of the evening. Congratulations to Atrisa and Chi for their super efforts! Especially Chi as she was chosen as the first runner up.
