In School Sporting Results January-February 2024

Students represent AGGS weekly with mid-week and weekend fixtures in Hockey, Netball and Football. Our student sports ambassadors would like to share these successes and have created a top 8 sporting moments from the year so far; 

Best achievements this year so far: 

Our oustanding U16 Hockey team reached the Quarter Finals of the National Schools U16 Competition after beating Westbourne 12-0 in round 4. They have drawn Leeds Grammar in the quarter finals and are due to play this week. We wish them all the best of luck! 

Our U14 badminton group played Leeds Grammar School in the next round of the National Schools Competition after beating Wilmslow and Kingsway High School. Our four students played outstandingly with the results being a 3 all draw after all matches played. Unfortunately, the deciding result went off total points, meaning the team missed out 109-102. We are incredibly proud of the performance from all 4 students involved! 

Our U16 Netball Squad have a current unbeaten record of 33 matches after winning 25-12 against Stockport Grammar. With only 2 more matches to go until their final AGGS game, they are determined to keep this streak going. We wish you all the best team!  

Our newly formed mixed year 8/9 football team have shown fantastic development and team spirit after an impressive 2-1 win over Withington Girls. The team have been training hard weekly and are ready for their upcoming fixtures against Altrincham College and North Cestrian. We wish the team the best of luck!
