MACFEST at AGGS

We are celebrating MACFEST, the Muslim Arts and Culture Festival, here at school for the week 21st-25th February.  

There will be activities related to Muslim Arts and Culture in many of your lessons throughout the week. There are books by Muslim authors, books with Muslim characters and non-fiction books about Islam on display in the library all week. On Monday we will be welcoming the artist Ashfia Ashrif to lead an illumination workshop in school with Year 9 students.  

On Tuesday lunchtime there will be the following activities:   

ISOC Macfest SessionTuesday 22nd February, Lunchtime, New Building Upper floor.D2 – Henna! £1 per hand, choose your own design.D3 – Headscarf presentation. Learn more about modesty in Islam, the different styles and types. Opportunities to try on hijabs and more!D4 – Bookmark Workshop. Create a bookmark with your name in Arabic. Includes some calligraphy and beautiful Islamic art presentations.Reminder to be on time to afternoon lessons. And lower school – walk in pairs.ISOC are excited to see you there!
