MACFEST at AGGS

We are celebrating MACFEST, the Muslim Arts and Culture Festival, here at school for the week 21^st-25^th February.  

There will be activities related to Muslim Arts and Culture in many of your lessons throughout the week. There are books by Muslim authors, books with Muslim characters and non-fiction books about Islam on display in the library all week. On Monday we will be welcoming the artist Ashfia Ashrif to lead an illumination workshop in school with Year 9 students.  

On Tuesday lunchtime there will be the following activities:   

ISOC Macfest Session
Tuesday 22nd February, Lunchtime, New Building Upper floor.
D2 – Henna! £1 per hand, choose your own design.
D3 – Headscarf presentation. Learn more about modesty in Islam, the different styles and types. Opportunities to try on hijabs and more!
D4 – Bookmark Workshop. Create a bookmark with your name in Arabic. Includes some calligraphy and beautiful Islamic art presentations.
Reminder to be on time to afternoon lessons. And lower school – walk in pairs.
