This year we had 39 enthusiastic Year 12 and 13 students taking part in the competition, which involved them completing a two-hour written exam paper. The questions posed often stimulate much debate, and enthusiasm for, chemistry – raising awareness of what the subject is all about. It provides a good opportunity to develop some of the skills required for study at university and beyond.
We are extremely pleased with the number of students participated and the results that they have achieved: 85% obtained an award;
with 17 students a bronze certificate
14 students achieving a silver
Huge congratulations must go to Rhea B and Kiya G in Y13 who achieved a prestigious Gold Award, placing them in the top 9% of the ~9000 students who took part nationally. Well done to everyone who took part!
