The sponge-a-teacher charity event took place on Friday 1st April – it was a great success with 12 teachers volunteering to be sponged and hundreds of students desperate to land a sponge on their favourite (or least favourite!) teacher. See Media Team report about the event here.
We raised £360 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, who fund research into the treatment and potential cure for type 1 diabetes. Dr Stutchbury then ran the Manchester Marathon on Sunday and the money from sponge-a-teacher was added to his marathon fundraising and in total he raised over £2000.
