Music Concert Raising Money for Ukraine – Media Team Report

Category: Music, News, Performance, The Arts

In the evening of Wednesday, 27th April, a music concert took place, aiming to raise money to support Ukraine. The concert had 22 performances, featuring solos, duets, larger ensembles, as well as the string orchestra. Many students from all year groups volunteered to take part, playing a variety of instruments or singing.

In addition, there was a raffle during the interval, as well as the auctioning of a beautiful handmade quilt. There were novelty and unique handmade gifts ranging from cards to crocheted badges to keyrings for sale. All proceeds go towards supporting Ukraine.

Personally, it was a very enjoyable evening, thoughtful and uplifting at the same time, reminding us that there’s always hope even in difficult times. Filling silence with the hope and joy that music can bring. It felt great to be a part of the concert, doing what I love most for a good cause.

Special thanks to the music department, other staff members and everyone who contributed or donated and especially to all the performers for sharing their music!

So far almost £1552 is raised!

The money has been donated to the following charities:

Thank you!
