Y9 Translation Bee Success

This term, six of our Y9 pupils have taken part in the virtual regional final of the Translation Bee competition. They made it through to the final 48 out of 4299 pupils from schools in the Northwest and Yorkshire. All six of our pupils competed to a very high standard, translating as many sentences as possible in 60 seconds into French, German and Spanish.

I’m delighted to let you know that Mariia D was awarded 3rd place for French, Bibby B and Hajar M were awarded joint 2nd place for Spanish, and Haneen E-A was awarded 2nd place for German. As a result, these pupils have qualified for the national final in Cambridge on 1st July. This is a tremendous achievement and congratulations to them all.
