As we near the end of the winter term, there is only one thing on our minds with the holidays nearing, and that is Christmas. On Tuesday, the school held a Carol Service in St Mary’s Church just down the road, and we were definitely all feeling that festive spirit by the end of it!
Due to the pandemic, we have not been able to hold a Carol Service in three years, so the last one we had was back when we were both in year 7. It is great to be back to be together, singing traditional Christmas carols collectively with others during this festive period.
We also had performances from all three choirs, as well as individual solos and duets. There were of course readings from the Bible by students, telling the story of the Nativity.
Thank you to the Parish Church for welcoming us this Christmas and to the bell-ringers and organist at St Mary’s who accompanied our singing! Also a thank you to Sam Wilson, a member of the church who led the service.
