On Friday 3rd March the lovely Ashfia Ashrif returned to school to deliver a second illuminated pattern workshop. She brought framed examples of her own beautiful pieces of work inspired by the history of Turkish Islamic Illuminated patterns. She worked with 17 of our Year 9 students teaching them the delicate and detailed techniques that are traditionally used to create these exquisite painted patterns. The students responded brilliantly to her calm and engaging manner and her passion for sharing these skills. The students produced delightful pieces which we hope they will find the time to complete in the next few weeks. (Maybe a full day workshop next time) Thank you Ashfia!
