Flamenco Dancing

This week we have been celebrating culture across the school. The week of celebrations was organised by the Diversity Ambassadors, and they have done a fantastic job! Thanks to the language department for supporting activities too.

Some of the lunchtime activities have included Astrix in French, Flamenco dancing, ballroom dancing, classical Indian dancing of Kathak and Bharatanatyam and the showing of films from Afghanistan, Japan and Korea.

On Thursday, students attended school in cultural dress. See our Media Team Report about the day here

Wednesday was the peak of celebrations with our first Culture Evening. This was a superb celebration of our students’ diversity and culture. Students performed in a talent show, which included Indian dance, Bulgarian song, Yoruba poetry, Irish dance, Bengali poetry and Afro-fusion dance. There was also a fashion show where students exhibited cultural dress from countries around the world. In between the shows, there were a range of stalls including facepainting, making Arabic bookmarks and food available from across the world including China, New Zealand, West Africa, Pakistan and more. What an amazing evening we all had! See Our Media Team Report about the evening here.

Thank you to everyone for supporting the evening and well done to the Diversity Ambassadors for making it all happen!
