Noughts and Crosses – Media Team Report

Category: Drama, Media Team, News, Students write, Trips

On Thursday, Year 9 went to Liverpool to watch Noughts and Crosses, a theatrical adaptation of the famous novel Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman, which is relevant to the topic they’ll be studying in Drama. The story follows Sephy, a Cross born into an affluent family, and Callum, a Nought born into a poorer family, as they fall in love amidst the social prejudice towards Noughts. The emotional story talks about issues such as racism, prejudice, social class and segregation as well as other sensitive topics.

Although it was very rainy on the day and the coach reached school a little later than expected due to weather conditions, Year 9 enjoyed watching the play and got a deeper insight into the story.
