Mock Trial Success

Category: Achievement, Citizenship, News, Sixth-Form

On Saturday 26th November our Year 12 Mock Trial team took part in the Sir Rhys Davies School Mock Trial Competition in Minshull Street Crown Court and made it all the way to the final, coming second by only 4 points.

The team competed against 11 other schools including St Ambrose College, MGS, Manchester High and AGSB. Our barristers (Erin M, Eshal H, Lizzie M and Yvonne G) were all commended for their fantastic advocacy and professionalism and our witnesses (Tamara P, Teeba R, Rishika D and Poourvika S) all outdid themselves with star performances. Tamara won best costume for her portrayal of Isa Monster with her searing intimidating red eyes! The jury members were all very organised and impartial and Ruth R and Jahnavi P worked tirelessly as court reporters.

The team worked really hard and were truly excellent. They won every single one of their trials up to very tense final against Oldham Hulme Grammar School. It was a great day full of excitement! If you do see the students today please congratulate them on their brilliant efforts.

A huge thank you also to Miss Demeur for all her hard work in preparing the witnesses and the team as a whole.
